Eagles Host PDRL Festival at Parson Cross Park
12/07/2024
This weekend will see the Eagles host Festival 4 of the Physical Disability Rugby League season at Parson Cross Park, the home of Sheffield Hawks.
The city has hosted PDRL before, with The RFL holding the PDRL finals round at Bawtry Road in 2023, but this weekend will be the first time the Eagles have hosted a regular season round.
Disability Inclusion Officer at the Eagles Foundation, Jack Pemberton, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting a PDRL fixture for the first time as a foundation. This week we’ll be fielding more of our own players than ever before and hopefully showing the strength of PDRL in Sheffield and development that we’ve had over the last 6 months.
I would encourage anyone who’s at a loose end on Saturday to get up to Parson Cross Park, to come and see what PDRL is all about and to show your support to all of our players.”
The Eagles will face tough tests against Warrington Wolves (12:10pm) and Bradford Bulls in the closing fixture of the day (2:10pm) but with a strong squad named, the Eagles will be hopeful of a historic first win since joining the PDRL circuit earlier this year.
The action kicks off from 11:30am at Parson Cross Park, S5 8AL. Entry is free for all spectators. Refreshments are available, with proceeds supporting Sheffield Hawks RLFC
