Eagles Fan Dave Jones Takes On Sheffield Half Marathon For Eagles Foundation

Longtime Sheffield Eagles fan Dave Jones will be taking on the challenge of Sheffield’s Half Marathon early next month and is raising funds for the Eagles Foundation.
The 13 mile run, which takes place on Sunday 7th April, is notorious as being one of the most challenging half marathons in the country due to the first half of the route being entirely uphill and Dave is aiming for a time of 1 hour 40 minutes!
“I last did the half marathon in 2013 and its taken me ten years to recover” joked Dave. “I was first introduced to the Eagles when Dale Laughton, Daryl Powell and Paul Broadbent came into my school to take us for some coaching. It would have been the 1992-93 season and it was such a great experience that we came to a game and since then have been hooked, with the rest of my family also being huge supporters of the club.
“Doing something to raise funds for the Eagles Foundation seems like a good way of giving back to the club and to Rugby League which has been given me so much! I’ll be wearing an Eagles shirt for the run so people can spot me and give me a wave!”
