Eagles and Midlands enter dual-registration agreement

Sheffield Eagles and Midlands Hurricanes have entered into a dual-registration agreement, effective immediately.

The Eagles and Hurricanes already have a relationship following the loan deals of Ryan Johnson and Jason Bass throughout 2023.

The agreement works for both parties, in that the Eagles players not in their match day 17 can gain important game-time whereas Midlands will receive squad members from an established Championship outfit.

Eagles Director of Rugby Mark Aston commented: “We really look forward to developing our current partnership with Midlands with this dual-registration agreement,”

“I’ve mentioned a few times about the importance of our whole squad in the run-up to the end of the season and that is why we need as many of our squad to be playing games.

“Ryan Johnson has already been playing for the Hurricanes and that will continue under dual-registration.

“Midlands will also have Izaac Farrell and Mikey Wood for their game against Hunslet this Sunday.”
