14/11/2023

Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Foster on a two-year deal.

The second-row forward signs for the club after spending the back end of the 2023 season in the Super League with Castleford Tigers.

The 30-year-old is a former Leeds Rhinos academy star has also featured in the Championship for Featherstone Rovers, London Broncos and Newcastle Thunder, the latter, where he was named captain for 2023.

Director of Rugby Mark Aston said: “We're delighted to have signed Alex for the next two years. He's a talented player who has Super League experience and will provide us with a real strike and gives further competition to our forwards.

"He's a time in his career where he is after some stability after an moving club's mid-way through 2023 and hopefully we can provide that for him.

“Alex is familiar with a number of the boys already at the club, having spent time at Castleford with the Jesse (Sene-Lefao), QLT and Cory (Aston), so he will fit into the group seamlessly.

"I'm really pleased to get a player of Alex's pedigree into the club, and I'm looking forward to seeing him represent the club in 2024."
