Danny Craven signs for Sheffield Eagles

Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce the signing of halfback Danny Craven from Oldham RLFC.

He has signed with the Eagles until the end of the 2025 season, and as part of the deal, Morgan Smith has gone the other way to sign for Oldham with immediate effect.

The 33-year-old came through the youth system at Widnes Vikings, and went on to make over 180 appearances across two spells for the North West Club, with 70 of those coming in the Betfred Super League.

He departed Widnes at the end of the 2023 campaign, where he joined Oldham RLFC, and he helped play a key part in their promotion to the Betfred Championship last season.

Since returning to the Championship this year with Oldham, he’s gone on to make a total of twelve appearances, scoring four times in the process.

Craven now goes into contention to feature against his former side this weekend when the Eagles travel to Boundary Park to face Oldham on Sunday afternoon.
