Corion pens one-year deal with Eagles

Sheffield Eagles can today announce the signing of winger Travis Corion.
Corion joins from Huddersfield Giants where he spent a number of seasons, across their Scholarship, Academy and Reserves system.
Mark Aston is excited to see what Corion will bring to the table, as he learns his trade with some experienced teammates.
“I am delighted to bring in Travis as he has got huge potential,”
“He is quick, strong and still only young.
“He’s at that age where we like to get them and he understands what he needs to do to get where he wants.
“We know the likes of Rob Worrincy won’t go forever so we will be needing guys to pick from the older guard at some point, and that’s what we’re hoping Travis can do.”
Aston has praised Corion’s work ethic both on and off the field, with Aston impressed by how much the winger wanted to learn about the club.
“He has played in the back-row so he has that mentality from being there,” he added.
“He is willing to take the tough carries.
“I can’t remember meeting anyone that asked as many questions as he did.
“He wanted to know everything about the club, and what we’ll be needing from him going forward.
“The meeting we had was productive and we both got some useful things out of it.”
Corion is looking forward to the opportunity given to him as he moves across Yorkshire, saying: “I am buzzing to be fair,”
“I didn’t expect a chance to come along so quickly.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and stuck in with the boys.”
When asked what the fans can expect from him, Corion added: “I’m a hard worker and got decent agility,”
“I’ll always put the work in to get us where we need to be, whether that is in defence or attack I’ll put my all in.”
Discussing the conversation he had with Aston that helped bring him to the club, Corion said: “I was surprised with how quick he got back to me!”
“His interest took me aback and despite getting other offers, my chat with him certainly made me want to join the club and start training with the Eagles.”
