Corion eager for first victory with Eagles

Sheffield Eagles’ Travis Corion has expressed his delight after making consecutive appearances in the Red and Gold.
The winger joined the Eagles from Huddersfield Giants ahead of the 2021 season and admits he has been surprised by his amount of first-team action over the last month.
Albeit in defeat, Corion impressed in Sheffield’s recent loss against Toulouse Olympique - a week after he scored his first Eagles try at Widnes.
“It’s taken off quicker than I thought,” Corion said.
“I wasn’t expecting to get as many games as quickly as I have done,”
“The injuries (in the squad) have allowed me to get in there and I’ve tried my best to make a point and do the best that I can.
“On my debut, I had to get out there and prove a point and showcase what I can do.
“I’m just going with the flow, I’m trying my best week-in-week-out.”
Corion insists confidence in the group has improved over recent weeks despite back-to-back league defeats.
“The results haven’t been what we’ve wanted but as a team, I think that we’ve performed well,” he said.
“As a team, we’re doing alright, we are getting a few of the injured players back slowly.
“In terms of confidence over the last few weeks, it’s come together and the morale has gone up around the place.”
The Eagles travel to West Yorkshire this week to face a similarly inconsistent Dewsbury Rams, with Corion still targeting his first win in Eagles colours.
“It’s a massive game this weekend, these next few weeks are really important for us,” Corion added.
“We need to go out there and put on a performance.”
