Corey Johnson has extended his stay with Sheffield Eagles after signing a new one-year deal ahead of the 2027 Championship season.

The former Leeds Rhinos hooker will remain in South Yorkshire for a third season after another consistent campaign in 2026, making 28 appearances for the Eagles.

Johnson has now made 50 appearances across his two seasons with the club, scoring six tries, and will be looking to build on that record when he returns for the 2027 campaign.

His new deal sees him join Will Oakes and Masi Matongo in committing their futures to the Eagles, with the club continuing to secure key members of last season's squad.

Johnson's extension also takes the number of players currently contracted to Sheffield Eagles for the 2027 Championship season to 17.

Under Contract Players for 2027: Matty Marsh, Joe Brown, Billy Walkey, Kieran Gill, Josh Hodson, Will Oakes, Jordan Lilley, Jordan Abdull, Conor Fitzsimmons, Martyn Reilly, George Griffin, Masi Matongo, Blake Broadbent, Lewis Peachey, Corey Johnson, Harry Bowes, Joel Farrell
