Captain Thacks signs on the dotted line

Sheffield Eagles are thrilled to announce the re-signing of club captain Anthony Thackeray on a one-year deal.

The scrum-half has been one of the club’s most impressive signings in recent history and he will continue in the Red and Gold during 2024.

With plenty of magic left to sprinkle on the Olympic Legacy Park turf, Thackeray will be looking to guide the Eagles into the playoffs once again after finishing 4th in the 2023 regular season.

“We know what Thacks means to the Eagles and vice versa,” said Director of Rugby Mark Aston.

“He has been phenomenal for us ever since he came on board and when we spoke about him potentially carrying on, he was more than happy to.

“We know his talent, we know what he’s got left and I’m sure the Eagles supporters will be delighted that our talisman is going around again.”
