Bull arrives at Eagles

12/10/2020

Sheffield Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of England Students international Jordan Bull.

Bull, who can play at centre and the back-row, started in the Eagles Scholarship before moving to Castleford Tigers.

After a spell in Cas’ Reserves/Academy, Bull has been brought back to the Steel City after head coach Mark Aston admitted he had been keeping an eye on his progress.

“He was part of our scholarship as a youngster before it got unfortunately disbanded,” Aston explained.

“He then went over to Castleford and has also played for Leeds Beckett University.

“We have been keeping tabs on him, I had a chat with him, and he is a good kid who wants to progress.

“He wants an opportunity and we’re happy to give him that.

“It’s all about his development and where he’ll be in years to come, it’s not all about right now.

“He has the right attitude and we’ve jumped on him after he was released from Castleford.

“People find a way (to succeed) when they’re good enough and that’s what we’re hoping Jordan can do.”

Bull is looking forward to returning to the Eagles, saying: “I am excited to come back,”

“When I was in the Scholarship, I wanted to develop into a first team player, but that system got taken away from the club and I never thought the chance would come.

“To get that call and find out there was an opportunity was exciting.

“It’s always nice getting recognised for putting in the hard work and even after leaving the Eagles, knowing that they’re still looking out for you.”

Bull also replicated Aston’s comments regarding potential first team opportunities, adding: “This is senior rugby league for me now, as opposed to Academy/Reserves standard,”

“It’s nice to know there is a long-term vision rather than throwing me in straight away.

“It’s good that the club are seeing me as a project and one for the future.”
