Bettie Lambert joins our Women's team for 2026

Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce the addition of former York Valkyrie player Bettie Lambert, who will join the club’s Women’s team for the 2026 season.

Lambert made her senior debut for York in 2018 and went on to spend seven seasons with the Valkyrie, before departing the club in 2024.

Her performances at club level were recognised on the international stage in October 2021, when she earned her first call-up to the Ireland National Team, marking the occasion in memorable fashion, scoring on debut in a thrilling 26–24 victory over Wales.

Speaking on her move to the Eagles, Lambert said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to join Sheffield. It’s a new team, a new experience, and a new challenge that I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into.

“I’m excited to work with the staff and players and see what we can achieve together this season.”
