Betfred Challenge Cup 3rd Round Draw Details
09/01/2026
The RFL has confirmed that the draw for the Betfred Challenge Cup 3rd Round will take place on Monday 12th January.
The draw will be held at the DIY Kitchens Stadium in Wakefield as part of the official launch of the 2026 Betfred Championship season. Broadcaster Ross Fiddes will conduct the draw, alongside former Sheffield Eagles Head Coach John Kear, who will assist with proceedings.
The 3rd Round format will mirror that of last season, with Betfred Super League clubs drawn away against Championship or lower-league opposition.
A total of 32 teams will be involved in the draw. One ball will be drawn to face each of the 13 participating Betfred Super League clubs, while the remaining six balls will be paired to form three additional ties, completing the 3rd Round lineup.
3rd Round fixtures are scheduled to be played across the weekend of 6–8th February.
Sheffield Eagles can secure their place in the 3rd Round by overcoming Whitehaven R.L.F.C. in the 2nd Round, when the two sides meet on Saturday 24th January at the Steel City Stadium. Tickets for that clash are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking HERE.
