Become Errol the Eagle

Sheffield Eagles are on the lookout for an individual to step into the feathers of our much-loved mascot, Errol!

Do you love entertaining? Are you the type of person who can get a whole crowd smiling, without even speaking? If so, we want YOU to help bring Errol the Eagle to life on game days!

This is a fantastic voluntary role for someone who wants to be part of the matchday magic, represent the club, and create unforgettable memories for our supporters.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Errol, you’ll be right at the heart of the action:

- Bring energy and personality to matchdays as Errol

- Engage with fans of all ages: pose for photos, hand out high-fives, celebrate tries, and spread positivity

- Support the matchday experience: from pre-game build-up to half-time fun

- Work with our matchday team to create fun mascot moments and fan interactions

- Help promote the club through presence, enthusiasm, and charm

- Be a role model! Errol is family-friendly, approachable, and always upbeat!

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous mascot experience, just the right personality! We’re looking for someone who is:

- Outgoing, lively, and confident

- Comfortable performing in front of crowds

- Able to express emotion and character through movement

- Physically able to wear the mascot costume for periods of time

- Friendly, reliable, and great with kids and families

- Passionate about the Sheffield Eagles and community spirit

- Happy to volunteer your time to support the club

Role Details

- Voluntary position (perfect for experience, CV building, or just for fun!)

- Matchday availability required for all home games

- RFL DBS check required (the club will assist with this)
