Sheffield Eagles suffered a heavy 56-12 defeat to a dominant Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.
James Davey and Oliver Davies were the Sheffield try-scorers.
The Eagles attacked down the hill in the first half but could only put six points on the board, while Batley scored four tries up the slope.
Greg Johnson notched a first half brace for the hosts before Dale Morton and Lucas Walshaw got on the scoresheet.
Davey’s score came just shy of the half-hour mark to cut the deficit to four points but Batley had the best of the territory and that showed on the scoreboard at the break.
