Match Report

Sheffield Eagles got back to winning ways with a 42-18 victory over Rochdale Hornets at the Crown Oil Arena. Garry Lo notched a hat-trick to help Mark Aston's side to a third win in four games.

Rochdale opened the scoring after three minutes through Josh Crowley but Eagles responded with three consecutive tries. Lo, Elliot Minchella and Greg Burns all touched down for the visitors before Samir Tahraoui cut the deficit for the Hornets.

Lo and Spedding rounded up the first half action with a try apiece to put Sheffield 30-12 ahead at the break.

Duane Straugheir and Lewis Galbraith exchanged tries for the Eagles and Hornets respectively prior to Simon Brown kicking his sixth goal of the game, by virtue of a penalty.

With moments remaining in the tie, Lo completed his hat-trick with a close range four pointer as the South Yorkshire club passed the 40 point mark.
