Eagles set a points scoring record as they romped home against amateurs Leigh East in the third round of the Challenge Cup.
Menzie Yere claimed five of the 19 tries to equal Daryl Powell’s record for tries scored by an individual player.
Coach Mark Aston’s 18-year-old son Cory scored two tries on his senior debut.
Yere set the Eagles on their way after three minutes. Vinney Finigan and Misi Taulapapa were soon on the scoresheet and Cory Aston twice provided the pass for Yere to complete his hat-trick in 17 minutes.
Quentin Laulu-Togagae swept in and Aston junior intercepted a pass and went 80 metres raising his arm in joy before touching down.
Leigh’s only points came from centre Gavin Hunter with Ryan Peters adding the two.
Tries from Patch Walker, James Davey, Alex Szostak and Laulu-Togagae gave a 64-6 lead at half-time.
Walker claimed his second try followed by Yere and Laulu-Togagae completing his hat-trick.
Yere’s fifth try and Brambani added the goal 14 to match the conversion record before being substituted
