Coaching Development Workshop The Eagles Community Development team recently organised a Coach Development workshop led by Mark Aston that gave coaches working at all levels of the game around South Yorkshire and the Midlands region a chance to listen to Mark talk about his own coaching philosophy and how this has evolved since his first experience of coaching Hillsborough Hawks senior side. Coaches attending were then tasked to put some time aside away from the workshop and think about their own coaching philosophy and what is important to them as a coach. For example coaches working with young players were asked to question themselves in relation to what most important when is working with young players (enjoyment and player development or winning) and how this might differ to a coach working with senior grades in the professional game. The evening also gave those attending the opportunity to sit in on a first team video review and preview session and then observe the first team coaches delivery a session to the first team squad. With coaches travelling from as far as Coventry the evening was certainly well received and will be the first of a number of workshops arranged by the club in order to help support the game locally.
