Leigh Centurions v Barrow Raiders (12pm)League News

Warrington Wolves centre Rhys Evans could make his Leigh Centurions debut after agreeing dual-registration terms on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Bridgend-born back made a sensational impact against Leeds in an Engage Super League match earlier this season.

Leigh’s assistant coach Paul Rowley said: “We’ve got a tough couple of games over Easter, starting with Barrow who are very much like Halifax.

Barrow Raiders will travel without Jamie Thackray (ankle), Martin Ostler and Richard Fletcher (knee), but Matt James has declared himself fit following a ‘severe blow to his forearm/elbow area’.

Barrow coach Nigel Wright said: “If you’re going to go to Leigh and not perform, you’re going to get spanked. You’ve got to pick yourself up and get ready to play some good Rugby League. The challenge is there.”

York City Knights v Hunslet Hawks (2.00pm)

York are chasing their first win in the Co-operative Championship and are hopeful that could come against the side who also gained promotion last year.

York City Knights coach Dave Woods said: “We’re competing with teams in this division for large parts of the game, it’s now just about making sure we do it for the full 80 minutes.”

Hunslet Hawks player-coach Paul March (groin) is the Hawks’ only absentee.

March is ready to name the same 18 man squad from last week’s 28-6 win over Toulouse. “There’s no point changing a winning side,” he said.
