BACK ROW forward Joe Hirst has capped a great season for the Eagles by agreeing a new contract. Hirst has sined on for another 12-months after being one of the stand-out players during the surge to the club’s first Championship Grand Final. He played 28 games for the Eagles last season scoring nine tries and winning two of the club’s awards – Supporters’ Club and Players’ Player. He joined the Eagles late in the 2009 season after spells at Halifax, Wakefield and Featherstone. Coach Mark Aston said: “I’m delighted to be keeping Joe, getting the Players’ Player award shows how much he improved last season and how the other players rate him. “He’s developed in the last couple of years into one of the best back rowers in the competition.” (JC) Keep watching the Eagles’ website for more details of the squad for 2012 |
