PLEASE NOTE THAT SMOKING IS PROHIBITED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HALLIWELL JONES STADIUM INCLUDING ALL TOILETS AND HOSPITALITY AREAS

 

By Road:              

 

From the M62 – Leave the motorway at J9onto the A49 and follow the brown tourist signs – please note that there are speed restriction cameras along the A49.

 

From the M6 – Leave the motorway at J22 (signposted Warrington) at the roundabout take the third exit onto the A49 and follow the brown tourist signs – please note that there are speed restriction cameras along the A49.

 

NB There are long term road works on the A49 which, although lifted at weekends, will have an impact on the journey into the Stadium – no visible markings on approaches to roundabouts/no defined lanes.  Alternative routes may be advisable. 

 

A large crowd is expected for this event and traffic congestion is inevitable.  Please travel early to allow for any unexpected delays.

 

By Rail

 

Central Railway Station is approximately 400 meters from the Stadium and serves the East/West Trans-Pennine route.  Bank Quay station is approximately 1km from the stadium and serves the North/South mainline.  Please check departure and arrival times.

 

Car Parking.

 

There are numerous car parks both private and public that are within easy walking distance of the Stadium.   Standard charges will apply for public car parks, charges for private car parks will be at the owners discretion.  From a crime prevention perspective Cheshire Constabulary advise that spectators do not leave any valuable on view.   Golden Square, Cockhedge and Market car parks are free to park on Sundays.

 

Tesco Car Park

 

TESCO shopping centre car park, adjacent to the Stadium, is strictly for use by Tesco customers only.  Tesco have the option to use the parking barriers.  The car park is also stewarded on match days.  Please do not park your car in this car park unless you have a valid pass for the event as you will be issued with a fixed penalty fine of £50.00

 

In conjunction with Warrington Wolves & Warrington Borough Council there is a controlled parking zone around the stadium.  This is to ensure that match day parking does not inconvenience local residents or cause road safety problems.  Controlled zones are clearly marked and fines will be imposed for illegal parking.

 
Disabled Supporters

 

Building work has commenced at the Stadium and the usual accessible parking sited at the North East corner of the stadium is unavailable for this event.   Parking will be accommodated on TESCO car park but these will not be dedicated accessible spaces.  To pre-book a space please contact the RFL Box Office on 0844-856-1113.    Wheelchair entrances are located at Gates A & B

 

By Bus

 

The Halliwell Jones Stadium on the A49 Winwick Road, is located on a high frequency bus route.  Warrington bus station is approximately 500 meters from the Stadium.  Information on bus timetables can be found on the Warrington Wolves web-site.  Click onto the stadium tab and then maps & directions

 

 

Coach Parking

 

There is no on-site parking at the stadium for coaches or mini buses. Coach parking will be allocated on Matalan car park on Winwick Road & at the ASDA depot on Dallam Lane – for both official & unofficial coaches.  Coaches parking at ASDA depot will drop off & pick up spectators on Dallam Lane.  After drop off coaches will then be directed to park the ASDA depot.  Coaches MUST NOT unload at ASDA Depot.  Temporary directional signage will be in place. 

 

Further details regarding which teams will be allocated which coach parking area & advised routes will be published once the finalists are known.  There is no charge for coach parking

 

Turnstiles         Limited turnstiles open at 10.30am.  All turnstiles will be fully operational from 1.00pm

 

NB:                         THERE ARE NO PASS OUTS FOR THIS EVENT - MOVEMENT OF SPECTATORS FROM ONE STAND TO ANOTHER IS PROHIBITED

Food & Drink

 

è  Bars are open on the ground but close 30 minutes before the conclusion of the Championship Grand Final and will not re-open 

è     Alcoholic drinks are allowed to be taken into the stadium bowl

è     There are bars in the concourse under all four sections of the stadium

è  Hot and cold snacks & soft drinks are available in the ground from turnstiles opening through to the end of the Championship Grand Final

 

NB: All streets in the Warrington Borough area are alcohol free zones.  Alcohol is not allowed to be taken outside pubs or consumed outdoors.  Any one seen to be consuming alcohol outdoors will have it confiscated by the Police. 

 

Ground Regulations - In particular please note:-

 

¨        Fireworks, smoke canisters, knives, bottles, glasses, cans, or other articles which might be used as a weapon, missile, or used to cause annoyance are not permitted within the Ground and will be confiscated.

¨        The use of foul and abusive language, obscene chanting or racial abuse towards any person is strictly forbidden.

¨        Unauthorised persons are strictly forbidden from entering the field of play.  Anyone doing so will be removed from the ground and arrested

¨        Prams are not allowed to be taken into the stadium

¨        Collapsible viewing aids (steps/boxes etc.) are not allowed to be taken into the stadium

¨        The use of air horns, klaxons, whistles, vuvuzalas and any other item likely to cause confusion, annoyance or nuisance of any kind are not permitted in any part of the ground

¨        Alcohol purchased externally is not allowed to be brought into the stadium

¨        All spectators entering the stadium are admitted subject to the understanding that they may be required to submit to a search to prevent dangerous items being brought into the ground which might be used to cause injury or damage to other people of property

¨        With the exception of authorised press representatives holding official passes, the taking of photographs or cine/video photography inside the ground is prohibited.

¨        The stadium operates a rigorous Challenge 21 alcohol policy.  ID will be required if purchaser looks under 21
