Featherstone Rovers 34 vs 6 Sheffield Eagles
Featherstone go clear at summit
Bryn Powell scored a hat-trick as
Featherstone Rovers opened up a three-point gap at the top of the
Co-operative Championship with a 34-6 win against Sheffield Eagles at
the Bigfellas Stadium.
The league leaders secured an emphatic win
despite kicking only one goal all evening, with Liam Finn converting
his own try after 74 minutes.
Powell got Featherstone off to a
great start with a second-minute try, but the Eagles took the lead after
Simon Brown converted Misi Taulapapa's 18th-minute try.
The
hosts hit back and secured a comfortable victory courtesy of two more
tries from Powell and further efforts from Jon Hepworth, Kirk Netherton,
Ben Cockayne, Matty Dale and Finn.
