Eagles enter dual-registration with Broncos
Sheffield Eagles can confirm the club has entered into a Dual Registration Agreement with Betfred Super League London Broncos.
The agreement begins with immediate effect and will remain in place for the remaining duration of the 2019 season.
Speaking of the agreement, Eagles Head Coach Mark Aston said, “I’m delighted we have been able to reach an agreement with London.”
“Danny (Ward) has a great relationship with Keith Senior (Eagles Assistant Coach) from their long career together at Leeds and it’s an agreement that we all feel will be beneficial to both clubs and the players.
“Whilst we have had a good start to the season with five wins out of six so far, I think I’ve been pretty vocal about my disappointment in some of the performances, especially our ill discipline over the last couple of weeks.”
“We haven’t started games well either and we have a very tough trip to York on Sunday who are in great form at the moment.”
“Jason Crookes dislocated his shoulder at Dewsbury so we are light in the centres and with Blake Broadbent now suspended for two weeks and some other potential disciplinary hearings we could be light up front too.”
“Danny has done a fantastic job at the Broncos, him, his staff and the group of players at the Broncos are proving of the doubters wrong so I’m sure the players we will work with will be hungry and keen to get into contention for Super League matches.”
London Broncos Head Coach Danny Ward added: “Sheffield have had a very good start to the season and hopefully we can help them continue going from strength to strength.
“We are excited about the dual reg partnership with the Eagles and the opportunities it will bring for the players.
“The lads will get chance to test themselves at Championship level in what is a fiercely competitive league this year.”
