Sheffield Eagles are pleased to announce Adam Claydon has joined the club’s Board of Directors with immediate effect.
He will become Financial Director and will oversee the clubs financial matters moving forward as well as bringing the club’s affairs up to date in this area.
Claydon brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial sector, he runs his own business, Claydon Accountancy Limited, based in Barnsley with numerous clients in both the public & private sectors.
Claydon Accountancy are also the sock sponsor of the Eagles in 2018, the first sponsor the club has had on this position, showing the upturn in Commercial revenue the club has achieved since returning to the City in late 2017.
Speaking of his appointment, Claydon said, “I am delighted to join the board of the Sheffield Eagles especially in this historic year.
“Not only is it the 20th anniversary of winning the Challenge Cup but also the year that the Eagles have come back home to the Steel City where they belong.
“As a supporter of the Sheffield Eagles and rugby league in the City it is an honor to be able to fetch my expertise to the board and help drive the club forward.”
Chairman, Chris Noble MBE added, “I would like to welcome Adam to the Board of Sheffield Eagles.
“Over the past few years we have had a number of long-standing directors depart from the club and their wealth of knowledge and expertise has been difficult to replace.
“With the appointment of Mark Hannigan as Commercial Director back in November and now Adam as Financial Director we have found that and the club is now after a turbulent few years out of the city moving forward again off the field.
“Adam joins myself, Mark Aston, Mark Hannigan & Andy Tyers on the board and we will continue to seek expressions of interest of those wishing to join us and help develop this great club further.”
